Press release: “On the Magnificent Roero Way” Sunday, November 22 in Sommariva Perno

The non-profit organisation “Camminare lentamente” has organized, in collaboration with the “Ecomuseo delle Rocche e del Roero”, a walk “On the Magnificent Roero Way” which will set off from Sommariva Perno on Sunday, November 22.

The meeting is set for 9:00 am in Piazza Europa, Sommariva Perno, near the water dispensing cabin.

The walk will set off at 9:30 am.

The route, of about 13 km, will wind along the Magnificent Roero Way (S1), through woodlands and hamlets perched on the ridges of the spectacular Roero Rocche amphitheatre (inland cliffs).

Dirt roads or other roads with low traffic will be used with a few hills, so hiking shoes are recommended.

Lunch at your leisure in Monteu Roero (bars and restaurants are available).

1. A visit to the beautiful castle and some of the famous Crutin (Piedmontese for a small cave (larder) dug into the limestone cliffs) is possible during the break (the visit, of about one hour, costs 5 EURO, with booking by November 18). Return for 17:00.

It is possible to reach the walkers in Monteu Roero for the afternoon section of the walk, which starts at 14.00.

Registration for the walk is 5 Euro for new members to our association, 3 euro for members (free for those under 18 years of age).
